So how’re everyone’s exams coming along?

I had analytical chem today, which I totally overstudied for. I’m kind of sad I won’t be taking it next term, actually! The prof for that course rocks. And if I wasn’t such a failure in the lab I might actually think about taking further courses in analytical chem…

Speaking of labs, I have determined that it’s ORGANIC that I’m really screwed for. I hope I didn’t fail the lab, because if I did, well then all my studying comes to naught.

*shakes fist at TA*

*shakes fist at intimidating organic prof*

*shakes fist at the smart people in the class–any class*

*shakes fist at people only taking four courses*

*shakes fist at people who live on campus*

Oh, what am I saying?! I need to go study.

I want to shake my fist too.

*shakes fist at my econ final which I probably failed yesterday; also shakes fist at econ prof who mistotalled the mark for my midterm by 8 points*

*shakes fist at library renewal system which told me a book was due yesterday when it fact it was due at 12:50 am, meaning it was due before closing the previous night (since the library is open until 1am)*

*shakes fist at person who recalled another book that was due at 12:50 am while I was writing my exam, forcing me to return home to get the book and bring it back to the library the same afternoon*

*shakes fist at 25-40 page “publishable quality” research paper which has yet to materialize on my computer, a draft for which is due in a week* some draft it will be

*shakes fist at the piles of more than a 100 books that are surrounding me waiting to be read*

That is enough fist shaking for now. I should get back to my research.

You know what? This gives me an idea… perhaps some good hearty fist-shaking while studying will make my review sessions more productive. Or at least maybe get some blood flowing to the brain, so I’m not staring blankly at a textbook for half an hour

Cat Says:

Haha, you guys are inspiring. :star:

*shakes fist at reactions that proceed through different mechanisms but which give the same net result in acidic and basic conditions*

*shakes fist at the tendency of organic chemists to namedrop*

*shakes fist at the organic chemistry standard of naming reactions after the people who discovered them, which is what causes the namedropping*

*shakes fist at the person who invented matrix algebra* He just couldn’t have been satisfied with numbers or vectors (lists of numbers), could he? Nooo! He wants lists of lists of numbers, too!

*shakes fist at the fact that the 99 special will not be running anymore and therefore not stopping at Main*

*shakes fist at Saturday exams at 8:30 am*
