So…. a month after it comes out, I finally get to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was so worth it :star: So, so worth it. Now, because I just got home and my thoughts are all ajumble (due mostly to an effort to recount to my brother what was omitted from the film), you get a stream of consciousness version, in point form, of my thoughts on the movie.
- I really enjoyed it.
- I couldn’t stop snickering during the Yule Ball and Harry and Ron’s search for a date. Ahhh, that’s some priceless stuff right there. Those passages may be my favourite in the entire series.
- Ron’s dress robes = ghastly
- Since when would Hermione know what dress robes are? Then again, she is a girl….
- Speaking of Hermione, Emma Watson really annoyed me in this one. Every other line she said was so ANGRY. Overacting much?
- Unlike the twins, whose every other line–ah, every line, I suppose–was hilarious.
- “How could anyone figure that out? It’s completely mental.”
- My friend: “Cedric had a much bigger role in the movie.” Me: “Yeah, that’s because he’s good-looking.”
- Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort was perfect. That new Dumbledore, not so much.
- Was it just me, or did Crouch Sr. have major accent problems? Like… major. That scene in the Pensieve… at first I wasn’t even sure if it was Crouch, because his accent was so … off.
- The Beauxbatons and their butterflies were a little much. And what is Durmstrang, a circus school? Although they do have really cool staffs… staves…. whatever.
- Heh, I liked Snape during that study block-like thing they had. I like Rickman’s Snape, too.
- “Oh my God! I killed Harry Potter!”
