I am really liking nearlyfreespeech.net. I don’t host media-intensive stuff here (yet), and so far my monthly ‘bill’ for hosting (it’s a prepaid plan, remember) has come to less than a quarter. It was about a dime the first month, two dimes the second… and I don’t see this increasing exponentially. 😀
… is one heck of a fantastic ride. 😀 Every hockey fan needs to see this. Seriously. That includes all the guys. Everyone who wants to know how to swear in Québec needs to see this.
It was a bit comforting to watch it; I recognized the accents immediately and almost felt like I was in Québec again.
Ah, but seriously, though, I think it’s about to disappear from the second-run theatres, so let’s watch it on DVD! (I think I’m going to buy this film when it comes out. How can I not? Franglais, mes amis, franglais, it’s a beautiful language :D)
I don’t understand this season’s fashion.
Skinny jeans: only look good on the skinny. Am I the only one who sees the inherent contradiction in “plus-size skinny jeans”? I must also say “NO” to the black cigarette pant. Sorry, Audrey.
Tights: ditto. Although I shall grudgingly admit that now we have something to wear with ballet flats. (Which I don’t like for a different reason.)
Patent leather: Why? Patent leather takes me back to oh, Grade 2.
Puffy on top: I have nothing more to say about this. It looks ridiculous.
Okay, so in a desperate attempt to keep myself from falling into depression as a result of physical and organic chem, I’ve been reading stuff to remind myself about why I like chemistry.
I just found another reason. Apparently, there is a molecule named “Catherine,” (note the C!) and this is its structure:
Plus, if you have the CHIME plugin installed, you can look at a 3D rendering, as well.
And if you just want to learn about other molecules with weird names: http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/sillymolecules/sillymols.htm
I have just adopted the Domo-kun fanlisting from Jen and Birgit. 🙂 I’ve wanted the Domo-kun fanlisting for a while, but never did I think that it’d actually go up for adoption! I do love this fuzzy brown critter 😀
And now, back to chemistry problem sets!
I just thought this was kawaii. (I hear that word so often at work that I’m allowed to use it, even if I don’t speak the language. :P)
So I surf over to RateMyProfs.ca to see how bad my physical chem prof REALLY is–and I am greeted by a page of 1 ratings. For everything. And a bunch of sad blue faces. And people saying that the only way they passed was by using another prof’s notes.
I am going to die in this class.
I am having a grand old time with my new domain, except for one thing: The server does not send email. This means I receive no comment notification, among other things.
I can’t even use Enthusiast for my fanlistings!
This situation will have to change soon. I think I’ll jump to a paid hosting plan on the weekend.
