RIP, Jack. You will be missed. I hope your legacy is one of love, hope, and optimism.
(Incidentally, this has made clear to me why I believe charisma is so important in a politician; it’s the ability to engage, to inspire, to unite. If anyone is looking for a political role model, it should be Jack Layton: a man who knew how to play the game, but looked damn good doing it.)

Dear Google,
I understand times have been getting harder for you recently, what with these upstart social networking sites and search competitors lately. I’ve been a big fan of you guys for a long time. However, what made you think that instant previews on search pages were a good idea? And that it would be even better if people couldn’t disable this feature?
I won’t be boycotting Google anytime soon, but I’m now certainly open to using other search engines.
Yours,
Cat

Happy New Year, everyone! The lateness is due to non-functioning WiFi chez moi… I’m huddling outside the lab typing this.
PS: Paris, je t’aime.

Okay, so here are the styles I’m seeing come in for the spring, along with some personal commentary (as always):
- Wedge heels: I
hate somewhat dislike wedge heels. I just don’t like the fact that they’re continous from the toe to the heel. I don’t think they look particulary good except on a certain kind of sandal, and even then not everyone can pull off the look. They’re just heavy looking. Espadrilles (used in the English sense, not the French) are in in in. They look cute in the ads, but I can’t actually imagine anyone wearing one. I think you have to have narrow feet to look good in those.
- Ballet flats: In other words, flats with absolutely no support. I’ve actually refused to wear flats for this very reason. I don’t think anyone can go wrong with a good basic pair of Mary Janes, but make sure it has some kind of a heel so you don’t get flip-flop syndrome.
- A more earthy look: I couldn’t think of another way to describe it. There’s lots of natural fiber-looking stuff floating around, and the embellishments are definitely not as gaudy as they were last summer. I think it’s a bit of return to simplicity. The metallics are a little more muted, and lots of things have this brown-ish kind of undershade.
Et maintenant je retourne à mon disseration sur Gobseck. Woo-hoo.

I want an iPod just so I can make a Domo-kun cosy for it. How cool would that be? I could have my Domo-kun iPod inside my Domo-kun purse and…
Wow, I sound obsessed. XD

So you remember how I asserted that all of Dan Brown’s novels are the same?
Well, it seems I’m not alone in thinking that. Use this generator and you too can write a Dan Brown novel! (Or three.)

I figure the people who read this blog probably know me the best of all the people I know online (and offline.) So, please do this personality meme if you’ve got a chance.

CORE OF SOUL is breaking up! This really quite upsets me :depressed:
And here I was thinking that all the releases were a sign they were still going strong. I guess not. 🙁
