I didn’t realize this until today, but I’ve had my blog for seven years. Holy. Mackerel. Throughout that time it’s changed from whiny high school student entries to whiny university student entries to… a second-rate translation blog, mostly. With occasional sidebars on music.
I don’t think I’ll ever close it down–I post here for myself, not for anyone else–but I have to admit its utility is minimal. There are other, better, ways to keep in touch with friends, and I doubt that anyone who still reads this doesn’t have other means of contacting me.
Still, an anniversary’s an anniversary, isn’t it?

(Yes, that capitalization is intentional.)
The only thing that bothers me about WordPress is the constant update reminders. I mean, it’s good that the developers are working on it and patching security holes and stuff, but I just really can’t be bothered to update my installation every three weeks.
Especially since any non-basic ASCII character turns into gibberish every time I do it. That, and last time, it rolled back my comments to last July. Granted, there have probably been only… five legitimate comments since that time, but still.
I had originally come here to expound upon the wonder that is “Oddray” (the July single of LOVE, aka Fukiko Nakamura, aka ex CORE OF SOUL vocalist) but I’ve kind of lost that train of thought. Still. Happy song. Makes me want to dance.

I’ve finally upgraded my WordPress installation from oh–two years ago, when I first moved my blog to undreamt.org. Please let me know if you encounter anything amiss.
I’ve also just realized that I’ve had my blog for close to six years. Ah, memories. I feel old.

It has been far too long since I made a layout. Does it show :D?
Anyway, this is really the first time that I have customized a WordPress theme to my liking. The Kaguya theme was styling, more or less, but this one is a bit more adventurous for me. It took a while, but now I’m not nearly as intimidated (to be honest, that fluid center column was far more hassle than it was worth. I still don’t understand why Firefox doesn’t understand the concept of box within box leading to containing box stretching to fit contained box.)
(Sorry for those still using 800×600: I encourage you to choose another theme from the theme switcher.)

A theme I downloaded from somewhere. I needed a change, and well, since I’m just too lazy to design my own layouts, I used a free theme.
On the other hand, if you liked one of the other ones better, you can still change the theme to something else.

Don’t you love doing things yourself?
*insert emo-angsty-self-pitying blog entry here*
Actually, I suppose it’s more self-pity and less emo and angsty.
I’m so tired. It’s barely a month into school, and I’m already behind and feeling overwhelmed. Add the fact that I keep getting turned down for interviews, and you have a very unhappy Catherine. Plus, due to my insane schedule, I haven’t been able to keep up with my co-op commitments, and I’m really feeling the pressure right now.
I just want this to END.
