I am still alive! Yes I am!

Well, as I think I said two weeks ago, I went to Toronto. And now I am here to bore you all with the details of my trip.

As some of you are aware, it was my first plane ride. >>; I got to the airport far too early, so my dad and I sat down and I peppered him with questions about airplanes. Not that he’s been on one recently either. In any case, after a frantic afternoon/evening of packing, and trying to make sushi at the same time, we got on the plane. It was squished (>>; cheap tickets.) In any case, I found it rather uncomfortable. Since it was a red-eye flight, I tried to sleep. >>; Couldn’t. The movie was Chicago, and there were lots of flashy lights. Needless to say, I was utterly exhausted when we touched down in Toronto.

We had a few troubles getting into our room at the university, so we stored our luggage and were sent off to Tim Hortons (Toronto truly is the land of Tim Hortons). We wandered around TO for a nice long time, went to the Hockey Hall of Fame (which is too cool for words *_*) and then we returned to the university. Then we went upstairs and crashed. Well, I started writing French journals. Although there was a play going on on the field about St. Mary Magdalene, and all I heard was continous cries of “Lechery!! Lechery!” >>; Made it VERY difficult to concentrate.

The games themselves were all right. We didn’t win many. >>; However, we did meet cool people 😀 And I learned the coolest new card game! It’s called “Mao.” Ah, remind me to play it with you if you don’t know how to play.

We went up the CN Tower, too. Dude, is that thing tall. O_O; And Bobby had far too much fun jumping on the glass floor! That is not a good idea! In fact, it is a very very bad idea ><;; I became a bookie during the studio games! Although I didn’t take bets >>; Fun, though. 😀 You should have seen the predictions. At first it was only five entries or so, then it got to about twelve 😀

It was fun 😀 Although my English teacher essentially bit my head off for not having written a draft in Toronto >>; Sheesh.

Oh, and thank you to the one person who wished me a happy birthday. It was three days ago, just for the record. Whee >>;

So.

I have a very big decision ahead of me.

Remember that Reach thing (the trivia thing, a couple of entries back)? We came in second. We received word yesterday that since another team had dropped out, we were invited.

I know. It’s jaw-dropping. It’s amazing.

Of course, there’s a catch or two. A $600 catch ><;; I know it’s a lot of money. And I know I’ll need that money next year, too. I feel bad for ditching the team, though. I feel bad, especially, for ditching the only other girl we’re sending >>;;

But I can’t go without the consent of my parents. My dad is very enthusiastic about it (“This is a one in a lifetime opputunity! You can’t miss this!) while my mother is very reluctant. (“Do you really want to go? It’s not even school related, is it worth the risk of catching SARS? Why is it such short notice?”)

My dad’s right. This really is one in a lifetime. I don’t think we’ll get this lucky again.

*sigh* I can’t decide. I’d like to go, I think. But I can’t disobey my parents, since they’re footing the bill, after all. I also don’t want to take the place of somebody who REALLY wants to go. But people keep telling me to go… for many reasons… *sigh* We’ll see.

We’ll see.

Random Anime Birthday: Momoko Asuka (Ojamajo Doremi)

I never quite realized just how much the random J-pop mp3’s I download reflect my mood. Take “Can You Keep a Secret?” by Hikaru Utada for example.

Ima made zutto himitsu ni shiteta
Dare ni mo iwanaide
Can You Keep a Secret?
Kanashikunai yo kimi ga iru kara
Can You Keep a Secret?
Can You Keep a Secret?
Kizutsukenai to yakusoku shitemo
Dare ni mo wakaranai
Can You Keep a Secret?
Kanashikunai yo kimi ga iru kara
Can You Keep a Secret?
Kono mama Secret

Now until always itll be a secret
No one will tell
Can You Keep a Secret?
Because you’re here, I’m not full of sadness
Can You Keep a Secret?
Can You Keep a Secret?
Even if you promise that I won’t get hurt
No one will understand
Can You Keep a Secret?
Because you’re here, I’m not full of sadness
Can You Keep a Secret?
This ongoing secret

*shrugs* I just seem to find the right songs at the right times. (This one’s not bad either. But “Sakura Drops” is slowly clawing its way up my favourites chart.)

I’m going to the amusement park tomorrow for a physics field trip and I’m really excited ^_^ More later.

I am **mad**.

I went to check the guestbook for my {{link http://kyuui.nu/~majesty Queen Serenity shrine}} and I found a very tasteless POP-UP ad (adult content). No, this was not the fault of the {{link http://www.alxnet.com/ guestbook company}}. Not at all. This, my friends, was the fault of someone who had nothing better to do than plug her ADULT site on MY guestbook. Needless to say, I’m not impressed. At all. GRR. She even posted TWICE. In less than a week. Luckily the posts were fairly recent, and I’m hoping too many people didn’t see it ><;; Although... you never know. I just don’t understand. What exactly was the point of something like that? No matter what, Sailor Moon is primarily targeted at children. CHILDREN! MINORS! Gosh, I’m so mad I don’t even know what to say. >:C

ARGH. *shakes fist angrily*

Random Anime Birthday: Misaki Suzuhara (Angelic Layer)

Today was the final episode of the Chinese serial I’ve been watching for a month, Love is Beautiful. (I have no idea why it’s called that, it’s not even a translation of the Chinese title, which is about someone losing her head.) Anyhoo. That was the biggest deus ex machina ever. EVER. And after all that twisting and turning and more twisting and more turning, all the bad guys die and the good guy who’s supposed to die doesn’t end up dying because she’s been such a good person. Righty-o. And the emperor gets better and they are all one big, happy family. Nice to see things turn out that way, I guess. Although so many static, static characters.

And, um, GO CANUCKS GO!

I’m an apparently intelligent, liberal, not-too-generous, not-too-selfish, relatively well adjusted human being!
See how compatible you are with me!

Random Anime Birthday: Ataru Moroboshi (Urusei Yatsura)

I haven’t blogged in ages. *looks at date* Uh, for about two weeks. And I owe people an explanation for my disappearance online.

The simple answer is that I am just unable to keep up with everything >.O I’m sorry to have to say this, but my school work comes before anything online. I’m approaching that point in IB life where everything starts to go downhill. I’m becomingly increasingly concerned that my site work will interfere with my school work. I’m already behind on applications for my trading card game and my fanlistings. >.O (Which is why I’m updating them tonight WHILE studying for Chem ><;; I found the syllabus online [I left mine at schoo.]) {{link http://bloggie.thorned.nu/ Jessica}}, dearest, you’ve been very patient with me already, thanks so much 🙂 This isn’t anything personal, I assure you. >.O I’ve been ignoring everything equally. The extra long email will be arriving in your inbox soon.

(Hoo boy. The Hotmail account has reached its size limit *sigh*)

Uh… where was I….

*here begins the long rambling post of what I’ve been up to and various complaints about schoolwork*

Last week was fun, actually; I took part in a Reach for the Top (trivia! Whee!) tournament. (I’m going to be on TV~! XDDDD) It went pretty well, overall. We took second (losing to a crazy good team O_O;) and I am now in the possession of a shiny silver medal. I hope my math teacher doesn’t watch, though. ^^; I messed up on so many of those math questions >.O Apparently I was shaking during the first game. But everyone else was shaking during the last game. XDDDD There was a scoring scandal, too. At least, that’s what I call it. We were almost cheated out of a 110-point lead.

Um.. other eventful events… *thinks*

I had a Pro-D day last week. I spent it writing an absolutely evil paper which made zero sense. Oh, that was not fun. I finished early, but still… and then I was up until 1am the next night working on an English project (for which I was conveniently saddled with the bulk of the work in compliation. I should have let the others present…)

I went to the library’s bookslae yesterday and picked up an edition of Grolier’s Classics (it has Paradise Lost, which I’m quite eager to read) and Crime and Punishment and two other books. I also got Japanese for Busy People Vol. II. I think I qualify as a busy person. My brother picked up six books (including the third HP book — Quelle chance!)
